It works
JB got sick today and I blame the fact that I have brought the cold virus home. At work, a number of kids have been sick and absent while the rest who are around are either sneezing or coughing badly. I got sick over the weekend and could not keep myself away from JB. I guess this is the result of overwork. Anyway, aside from giving him medicine for fever, Alvin and I placed menthol patch in some parts of his little body. In the morning when he woke up, this was the first thing he said:
JB: "I'm all right Mommy. I'm all right." Happy with what he said, I touched his forehead and was sad that he was still feverish.
Me: "That's good to hear anak. It's good to hear you are all right." I smiled to encourage him.
JB: "It works Mommy. It works."
It took some time for me to realize what he meant and realize that he was referring to the menthol patch and to the massage and hug that Alvin and I gave him before we all went to sleep. Alvin and I were glad to hear that our love for JB worked on him when he was feeling sick. Love cures all sickness.

JB's prayer
By now, JB has already imbibe in his system the need to pray before sleeping, be it during his nap time or when we go to sleep at night. If I do not start praying as soon as we get ready to sleep, it is JB who tells me: "Hey Mommy...say 'Amen."
At 3 years and 4 months old, this is JB's prayer:
"In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, Amen. No hapak Daddy...No hapak Mommy...No hapak Simba (his stuffed lion). In the name...Amen."
I can't help but my heart smiles wide because of the fact that at his age, he already has composed his own prayer without us coaching him at all. Thank you JMJ!

Sunday church
We always attend the 11:30 am family mass at St. Anastasia's. After every mass, there is a gathering at the lower church where food is served and kids can play.
JB knows when his picture is taken...but anak, we'll teach you how to pose like daddy ha and not like mommy, hehehehe...

Young love for photography
Since JB's birth, I probably have taken hundreds, if not thousands of pictures of him. Half of it, I most have likely saved in discs while the other half, I have deleted. I have been changing camera and camera brands over the few years and JB have seen how enthusiastic I am with taking photos that he has followed suit We lend him the Kodak digi cam but he seemed too young to care for it. So we instead, bought this KidiZoom camera by Vtech which is suppose to be durable enough for little children. I hope to teach JB how to take good pictures.

Center of attention
JB's childhood years is turning out to be very much similar to mine. There's the constant positive approval from parents/adults, praise and admiration, physical affection and plenty of talk. While I am relieved that JB's formation is very much similar to mine and hopefully, he would also approach life the way I do, I am also desiring that someday, he'd be able to survive absence of the good things he is having now and still turn out good. My husband is making a huge impact on JB. They're both males and I pray the bonding will turn out good results in his adolescent years. For now, we both hope that JB will look back at his childhood and cherish all the wonderful and loving things we've showed to him. I'd say that his exposure to things are far more richer than mine. As for me, whenever I hug, kiss, teach or discipline JB, I am always reminded of how my parents love me, especially Mama. It's a parental investment that leaves a lasting mark in one's heart.

Say cheese!
It is really difficult to take a family portrait using just the timer. Maybe next time, I should put a toy on the top of the camera so JB will look at it and the picture will hopefully turn out fine. That is if, he doesn't run to get it!
